Avid has three molecular imaging development programs currently in Phase I and II clinical trials (Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease/Dementia with Lewy Bodies and Diabetes PET). Avid is the leader in development of molecular imaging agents with multiple promising commericial PET compounds already in clinical trials. Avid has also established imaging collaborations with multiple big pharma partners. Avid has certain preferred rights for negotiation of additional licenses to compounds through its support of research at the University of Pennsylvania, University of Michigan, Columbia University and other universities.
Strategy: Avid is focused on developing molecular imaging agents with the potentilal for early diagnosis and prognosis of major chronic human diseases, such as AD, PD/DLB and Diabetes. The company has followed the FDA's exploratory IND guidance to rapidly test multiple compounds in clinical trials and bring forward only those molecular imaging agents that show the best utility. Avid is partnering with therapeutic drug developers in clinical trials, in order to establish Avid's compounds as the standard biomarkers for pairing with therapeutics in the marketplace.
